About Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most scenic and iconic safari destinations, located in the southern part of the country near the border with Tanzania. The park is famously set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, whose snow-capped summit creates a stunning contrast with the dry plains below.
Known as the “Land of Giants,” Amboseli National Park is celebrated for its large herds of free-roaming elephants, often seen up close as they traverse the open savannah. The park is also home to lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope species, as well as over 400 bird species.
The park’s diverse habitats include swamps fed by underground water from Kilimanjaro, acacia woodlands, and open plains, supporting a rich ecosystem. With its dramatic scenery, abundant wildlife, and excellent photographic opportunities, Amboseli National Park offers a classic and unforgettable African safari experience.
