About Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is a scenic and wildlife-rich park located in northern Tanzania, not far from Lake Manyara National Park and the famous Serengeti National Park. It is best known for its vast elephant herds and iconic baobab trees that dot the landscape, creating a distinctive and picturesque setting.
The park is named after the Tarangire River, which serves as a vital water source, especially during the dry season. This attracts large concentrations of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of antelope species, making game viewing particularly rewarding.
Tarangire National Park is also a haven for birdlife, with over 500 species recorded, appealing to bird enthusiasts. Its quieter atmosphere compared to other northern circuit parks offers a more relaxed and intimate safari experience, while still delivering exceptional wildlife encounters and stunning landscapes.
