15-Day Cross-Border Safari: Uganda and Kenya Wildlife Exploration

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be greeted by Likana Safaris representatives who will facilitate your transfer to your accommodation in Entebbe or Kampala. After settling in,  The following day, journey to Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital. You’ll embark on a scenic drive through the countryside, arriving in Jinja in time for lunch. Explore the iconic Source of the Nile, on a boat ride  to witness the convergence of the Nile’s different tributaries, and engage in adrenaline-pumping activities such as white-water rafting, quad biking or bungee jumping. Overnight stay in Jinja.

After breakfast, depart from Jinja and travel to Sipi Falls, located in the eastern part of Uganda near Mount Elgon. The journey takes you through picturesque landscapes, rural villages, and lush farmlands. Upon arrival at Sipi Falls, check into your accommodation and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a guided hike to explore the stunning Sipi Falls, a series of three waterfalls cascading down the slopes of Mount Elgon. Enjoy breathtaking views of the falls and surrounding countryside as you hike through the lush vegetation. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, continue your journey to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savanna park in Uganda. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and enjoy lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or embark on a game drive through the park, where you’ll have the chance to spot zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and other wildlife. The following day, wake up early for a morning game drive, followed by a boat safari on Lake Mburo, offering opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart from Lake Mburo National Park and journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and enjoy lunch. Spend the next two days exploring the park through game drives, boat safaris, and guided nature walks. Highlights include a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, game drives in the Ishasha sector to see the famous tree-climbing lions, and encounters with elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before venturing into the forest with experienced guides. Trek through the dense vegetation in search of a habituated gorilla family, a thrilling and rewarding experience that can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. Upon encountering the gorillas, you’ll have a magical hour to observe and photograph these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, bid farewell to Uganda and cross the border into Kenya, where your safari adventure continues in Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival, check into your chosen accommodation and enjoy lunch. Spend the next three days exploring the vast savannas of Maasai Mara through game drives, where you’ll have the chance to see the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros), wildebeest migration (seasonal), and an abundance of other wildlife species. Each day brings new opportunities for wildlife encounters, photography, and exploration of this iconic safari destination.

After breakfast on day 13, depart from Maasai Mara and travel back to Entebbe, crossing the border into Uganda. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and enjoy your last evening in Uganda. The following day, depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to explore Entebbe or relax at your accommodation. Later, Likana Safaris representatives will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable cross-border safari adventure.
